The Product Support Specialist position is an integral part of the MITS technical team and is responsible for supporting customers with use of our products and solutions. You will have the opportunity to ramp up on all areas of our n-tier technology stack that is utilized for the business intelligence reporting, analytics, and data visualization solutions that we deliver to ERPs and other operational systems. The solutions we implement provide customers with insight into their data and allows for better business decisions to be made.

  • Investigate, document, and troubleshoot incoming support requests from various sources including email, telecom, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues by providing guidance to customers through email and/or telecom communications
  • Resolve issues on customer’s system through remote connectivity
  • Participate on design specification and technical documentation reviews from a customer’s perspective
  • Maintain SLA on support response times, time to resolution, and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribution to continuous refinement and development of the support team through  process improvements and use of technologies where appropriate
  • Establish, maintain, and increase client satisfaction by providing professional and courteous services during support engagements


  • Minimum of 3 years of technical support experience in a software development environment
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Technical Support methodologies, best practices, and tool sets.
  • Proven track record on supporting software packages
  • Experience with troubleshooting and providing technical assistance through various mediums including emails, telecom, etc.
  • Experience with supporting n-tiered applications utilizing web server, browser, database, and platform technologies
  • Familiarity and ability to work within an Agile development environment
  • Ability to research, make recommendations, and implement tools to improve processes in the Support department

Experience with any of the following technologies is a bonus:

  • Java, Java Script, HTML, and CSS
  • Apache and Microsoft IIS web and application servers
  • HTTP, Telnet, SSH, and other communication protocols
  • Database platforms including Apache Derby, PostgreSQL, Rocket UniVerse and UniData, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle, and MySQL
  • OS platforms including Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, and AIX
  • VPN and terminal connectivity tools including Cisco, SonicWALL, Microsoft, etc.


  • Ability to ramp up and understand complex architecture and be able to accurately communicate technical material to audiences at different technical levels

Salary will be based on skills and experience. Are you passionate about helping businesses make proactive, informed decisions with their data and want to work on creating solutions that synthesize and translate business data needs into reports, charts, and other creative visualizations? The Professional Services Contractor role is an integral part of the Professional Services Team and is responsible for fulfilling customer service requests which focus around the maintenance and enhancement of existing BI solutions through cubes, reports, dashboards, and scorecards using the MITS reporting and analytics platform and the data from our customers’ ERP systems. The solutions we provide allows our customers to gain insight into their data to make better business decisions across their organizations.

You will be joining a tight knit team of smart and motivated individuals who are excited about collaborating with each other and our customers on their passion of business intelligence.


  • Consult with customers to qualify requirements for their services requests
  • Maintenance and implement enhancements of existing BI solutions based on customer requests
  • Handle escalation of issues from Support to our Professional Services team
  • Serve as a technical resource during the pre-sales phase
  • Maintain time tracking and categorizations of work being performed against service requests
  • Provide feedback on opportunities to enhance toolsets and processes to streamline services work


  • 2-3 years of experience with SQL
  • 2-3 years of experience of working with enhancing and designing reports and dashboards with reporting platforms
  • Experience with data manipulation via scripted or programming languages
  • Experience with wide array of databases which may include MultiValue, DB2, PostgreSQL, Progress, and MS SQL
  • Experience with ERP systems, accounting, and business processes


  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a small team environment
  • Ability to work with directly with internal and external customers to analyze needs, define requirements, and ultimately synthesize proposed solutions
  • Ability to communicate proposed solutions to customers at all levels of an organization from C-level executives to technical IT staff through strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to self-prioritize and execute on multiple projects concurrently
  • Familiarity with ETL processes
  • Experience with other coding languages
  • Familiarity and/or experience with BI cube development and methodologies
  • Functional level of expertise in Linux and Windows platforms
