Entry-Level Business Development Representative

MITS, the leading provider of reporting and business intelligence solutions for distributors and manufacturers, is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to conduct outbound lead generation and lead qualification via phone and email. This is an awesome, entry-level opportunity for a positive, self-starter to jumpstart their technology sales career.
 
Your primary responsibility will be to establish contact with senior-level prospects using the phone and email, build initial interest and rapport, and schedule a software demonstration. You must be comfortable talking with business professionals at all levels, working with the sales team to coordinate schedules and demo resources, transitioning relationships to the appropriate Account Executive, and supporting the sales and marketing teams in prospect data management and cleanup.
 
Compensation includes an annual salary plus an incentive program for meeting agreed to targets.
 
Responsibilities

  • Utilize phone and email to qualify leads generated through marketing campaigns and programs
  • Schedule meetings with prospects that meet MITS qualification criteria with Account Executives; ensure knowledge transfer and a smooth hand-off of the prospect
  • Manage and track leads using Salesforce while maintaining accurate and up to date records
  • Leverage online tools and resources to conduct company and contact research
  • Provide feedback to the sales and product marketing teams to inform messaging, positioning, and sales enablement tools

 
Qualifications

  • Sales experience in either a business, consumer, or retail setting, with a track record of meeting sales goals
  • Passion for outbound prospecting and lead qualification
  • Ability to understand technology and answer questions to prospects that drive meetings 
  • Ability to build tight relationships with Account Executives 
  • Be comfortable with rejection (whether on email, LinkedIn, the phone, or in person)
  • A relentless work ethic
  • Be persistent but relaxed on the phone
  • Possess phenomenal organizational, listening, verbal, and written skills
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce, GoToMeeting, and Microsoft Office Suite recommended
